Vehicles in German City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police reported they were notified by a man who noticed a car in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then found numerous other marked cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report early analysis suggest the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; officials are presently not aware of any injuries in association with the event," they stated.

City officials stated they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.

An important representative stated the attack rendered him speechless and required to be solved quickly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing attack five years ago," he posted on social media, referring to the death of nine people by a gunman targeting people of migrant background in five years prior.
