Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
